Woodland Creation Projects

At Woodland Creation Scotland, we’re passionate about sustainable forest management. In early 2019, Woodland Creation Scotland acquired a 40-hectare property in the Scottish Borders. We successfully gained approval to create a productive woodland, featuring a 3-kilometre perimeter deer fence to protect the trees from deer.

Planted in late 2019, the property features a variety of productive conifer species, including Sitka Spruce, Douglas Fir, Scots Pine and Norway Spruce, which are suitable for the gently sloping, south-facing property. This property will produce a future timber resource, supporting forest resource management. To benefit local wildlife and landscape views of the property, areas of native broadleaves and unplanted ground were integrated into the woodland.
